  In today's world there are various reasons why you definitely would need to check someone's criminal history. For example you are in a position who is in charge of hiring people. You have a high responsibility! If you hire someone and something goes wrong you will be the one in charge. It is still important to verify such information provided by another person. You can also check the address history of the person.

Well, the internet makes searching for information real easy and it is not different with sensitive information such as finding criminal history of a person. There are numerous resources you can use to help you in this task. Of course conducting a simple search on Google, Yahoo, Lycos etc. might not be efficient. However, there are special databases anyone may access that might provide the information you are looking for.

There are many websites on the internet offering a "free criminal background" check. However, this is NOT true. ALL websites I know of  offer a free PRE-SCAN. But that's it! Once records are found you will need to pay to access the report. So don't get fooled. There is nothing like a free criminal backgorund check online!

However, there are some government and state websites where you can conduct free criminal background checks. The disadvantage is that these sites do not give you complete access to their databases. So if you need comprehensive information fast and easy, I definitely recommend trying a paid criminal background check service. My favorite ones are Court Records, Court Registry, and Federal Records. They will cost you areound $20.
